History
Adopted on November 11, 1975, when Angola gained independence from Portugal. The design was inspired by the flag of the MPLA, the movement that led the independence struggle.
Construction
A 2:3 ratio. A horizontal bicolour of red and black with a yellow emblem in the center featuring a half-gear, machete, and star.
