Red represents the blood shed for independence, yellow represents the mineral resources of the country, and green represents the fertility of the land. The coat of arms features Mount Potosí, an alpaca, a sheaf of wheat, and a condor.
History
Adopted on October 31, 1851. The design has remained consistent since then, though the coat of arms has seen minor updates.
Construction
A 2:3 ratio. A horizontal tricolor of red, yellow, and green, with the national coat of arms centered in the yellow band (state flag).
