History

Adopted on December 7, 1943, shortly after Lebanon declared independence from the French Mandate. Designed by members of the Lebanese parliament.

Construction

A 2:3 ratio. A horizontal tricolor of red, white (double width), and red, with a green cedar tree centered in the white band.
