History

The tricolor has been used since 1848. The coat of arms was added in 1992 to distinguish the flag from that of Russia when Slovakia became an independent state.

A 2:3 ratio. Three equal horizontal bands of white, blue, and red. The national coat of arms is superimposed on the hoist side, bordered in white.
